About Sekar:
Sekar is six years old. He has a younger sister. The family live in a rural village in Chengalpettu, in a small thatched home with only one room.
Sekar's Father, Krishnan, is a wood cutter. His Mother, Karpagam, goes for daily wage work and runs the household. They find work for 10-15 days a month. Sekar's mother and father support him and his sister on the small income they receive.
Sponsor Sekar:
Sponsoring Sekar will help to ensure that he and his sister attend school regularly. He will have access to extra-curricular after-school classes with a specially appointed teacher, to help him with his homework, explore his creativity, and study English.
Our partners at CARE Foundation will help the family in their daily life and monitor the childrens' progress. The family will be provided with hygeine equipment and will be included in SOTE awareness programmes.
Sekar will recieve school equipment and uniform, and his birthday will be celebrated each year along with other children in her community.
