About Sharwin:

Sharwin was born in 2016 and is studying 3rd std in panchayat union primary school, 1 km from his village. He is a Disabled child with 85% cerebral palsy. He is the member of the specialised support group “Nambikkai” (meaning faith) formed by CRUSADE in 2016. He receives monthly maintenance allowance of Rs.2000 from the state government.

Kandippan, his father is a Lab technician in a private hospital.

Sharwin’s mother runs the family household. She could not take up any employment to support the family, as she spends a lot of time taking care of her two children.  

They live in a concrete house with hall and kitchen. The house does not have toilet but has a water facility.

Sponsor Sharwin:

Sponsored children are representatives of the villages they live in. Your sponsorship will not only benefit the child and its family but also other families where there is a disability. Able bodied children in these villages and their families will also benefit from the services that are provided. 

CRUSADE will support the development of sponsored children and encourage them to pursue their dreams. There will also be space for the child to share feelings and to get emotional support. Educational equipment, uniform sets, school bags, and other essentials will be provided as needed at the start of the school year.

Salt of the Earth support rural communities by providing sponsorship opportunities organised through their partners in India. Supporters may sponsor a child in a rural village helping them and their family through their school years.

Children either come from the rural communities overseen by our partner CARE, or come from families with disabled members (the child or one of their parents) overseen by CRUSADE. You will find a summary of their family background with each child. Select and sponsor the child of your choice.
