I will be walking the National Trail, Offa's Dyke which is based on the dyke King Offa ordered to be constructed in the 8th century, along the English -Welsh boarder. Offa's path provides 177 miles (285 Km) of tough trail walking, over 20 days. Starting at Sedbury Cliffs near Chepstow on the banks of the Severn estuary it runs along the English Welsh border to reach the coastal town of Prestatyn on the shores of the Irish sea. Following valleys and rocky ridges the walk is ever changing but always fascinating.
It has been a long term ambition to walk this trail, since hearing a presentation many years ago by the late Dr David Davies, a fellow General Practitioner in High Wycombe. I felt was a great opportunity to raise funds for this excellent charity and the good work they do in Southern India with their three partner charities, which Mary-Ann and I have visited several times.
